( ! ) Notice: Function _load_textdomain_just_in_time was called <strong>incorrectly</strong>. Translation loading for the <code>wpforms-lite</code> domain was triggered too early. This is usually an indicator for some code in the plugin or theme running too early. Translations should be loaded at the <code>init</code> action or later. Family-Teacher Conversations

Current Families

What are Family-Teacher Conversations?

Family-Teacher Conversations are an opportunity for families, students, and teachers to meet and discuss learning and celebrate growth. Family-Teacher Conversations happen twice a year.

Why we use them?

We know that parents’ involvement in their child’s education has a positive impact on their growth and success at school. This is particularly powerful when students can celebrate their learning and growth with their families. At Preston High, we value a three-way partnership built on trust, and want to support families to understand the next steps for growth by engaging in a reflective, productive, genuine and honest conversation.

How you can support your child

Family-Teacher conversations support families to to speak directly to their child’s teachers about their child’s learning and growth. The role of Family-Teacher conversations is to answer the questions parents have. Common examples of these include:

  • What is my child working towards?
  • What have they demonstrated in their classes?
  • What actions are the students taking to grow and progress?
  • What actions can families take to support learner growth at school and at home?

As always, if you would like to check-in with any of your child’s mentor or teachers about their progress throughout the year, please use the Compass portal to contact them.

Bookings for these conferences are reserved through the Compass Parental Portal. Please follow the link on your Compass Newsfeed or select “conferences” from the dropdown menu.
