Sean Butler

Principal

Passionate about public education, Sean has lead the establishment of Preston High School since it’s foundation in 2019. With an enthusiastic Principal Team, Sean has developed a vibrant and collaborative culture where all learners are empowered to grow and contribute to the wider community. Sean has a PhD in Education from the University of Melbourne and has been instrumental in supporting teacher collaboration as a Director in Victoria’s Academy of Teaching and Leadership.

Jessica James

Assistant Principal

Jess is an experienced teacher of Science and has a passion for helping teachers to develop and enhance their teaching practice. She has been a leader in classroom practice and curriculum design that puts students at the centre of the learning process. Jess also has deep expertise in engaging students and school communities with 21st Century technologies and design-based thinking.

Rohan McCarthy

Assistant Principal

Rohan is an experienced English and Media teacher with a passion for the Arts. He is an expert in the use of developmental rubrics, which provide students with the agency and confidence to understand the next steps in their learning. He is a leader in school-wide approaches to literacy and the use of data to support teachers to develop targeted interventions that maximise learner growth.

Shae Nechwatal

Assistant Principal

Shae is an experienced educator with a passion for building strong and positive learning communities. With a breadth of experience in both primary and secondary school settings, Shae supports students to find their passions through shared experiences. She empowers them to realise their best selves and is excited about continuing to build a positive school culture whilst also deepening Preston High School’s relationships with the broader community.

Beatrice Fox

Assistant Principal

Beatrice is an experienced teacher of Maths who is also a Numeracy Master trainer for the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership. Beatrice is an expert in leading interventions to boost learner growth. She is passionate about working more with the Student Programs team and wider community to ensure that students build the skills to be successful in the senior years of the school.
